Craziness of the holidays!

Needless to say, I've been dealing with a lot of holiday madness. The good news is that I've got all of my shopping done. The bad news is that I've fallen behind somewhat. I've been playing Star Ocean on the 360 as well as getting back into Lost Odyssey. I'm on disc 3 of LO right now. I bought myself a good number of presents (it's been a long time since I did)...a lot of clothes.

Timberland boots, some sneakers, a couple pairs of pants, a few shirts, a jacket, some other stuff, and a few games. I'll post a couple of them later on. Till later!

Finished my first playthrough of Fate/Extra

I bought Aksys Games' "Fate/Extra" (Limited Edition) from GameStop about a month ago and have been playing it little by little. I've now finished the game and I must say that it was better than what I expected, but only marginally. It's certainly unique and quite a bit of the dialogue, while repeating itself quite often at times, is relatively smart and a decent localization effort by Aksys and all others involved. It's not perfect though, as their was some wonky dialogue and typos that I noticed later, but I like that each servant possessed their own dialogue (with a few similarities here and there).

The "Janken" style gameplay makes things interesting for a little while but playing the game for ten hours and getting through a couple of weeks (weeks as pertaining to the game's setup, not real life weeks), one will come to the realization that the game is very formulaic. The ending was okay for me though as it was a little different.

Anyway, I may end up reviewing this one day, so I won't completely get into it. If you're trying to support obscure game publishers at all though, I would suggest you buy the game new while you can. The credits (tiny spoiler) DO want to thank Fate fans who were "enthusiastic" about the game, and buying the game would at least seem like one is enthusiastic...

Happy Thanksgiving!

^ It is a delicious turkey. You must eat it...all of it. Happy Thanksgiving to all that celebrate it and to those that don't, that's fine too. Just know that there will be no turkey for you!

The two videos (Knight Quest and Sumo Fighter) are finished and the last phases of my work can begin. Stay tuned for more news!

To finish my current webpage update...

I will be required to make a couple of new videos for very specific games. It's all part of a additional plan that is in the works and I can't say any more than that...okay. I'm a liar. I will say this: There will be more STUFF. Stuff is pretty awesome ladies and gentlemen. What kind of stuff? Not gonna say...I know, I'm terrible. I'll keep you all posted!

Some new videos!

Samurai Kid is basically finished. It has 166 extra images, a credits page with translated names, and an overview...and it's looking sweet. Instead of uploading that by itself though, I'm going to convert one or two of the other reviews that are already good, but need the new coding template inserted. In the meantime, check us out on YouTube (click our link on the right side) to watch our latest videos for Baten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia, and (soon) Ribbit King. All of the videos are for GameCube.

"I hope she makes lots of spaghetti!"

Only the she is actually a he in the form of me. Making rhymes and using up time.

My first try at making spaghetti was...simply awesome. I tasted so good, I'm gonna make it again. There was one unexpected situation that happened when I was making the dish; I didn't have beef sausage. I looked in the freezer and saw that I had breakfast sausages, so I used those instead.

That was an excellent decision. I wish I had a better pic of the spaghetti, but my camera sucks at taking pictures. Oh well.

Should get around to doing some videos...

I'm now done writing the new Samurai Kid article and I've already translated and made its new credits page. I just needs a short overview page now and the extra images pages. Between this and the new YouTube background, I should probably take a moment to make some new videos. I'll definitely have a thing or two up tommorrow!

Latest YouTube "Skin" Done

We've changed our background again! It's got more sprites and edits done than ever before! You can check it out here.

Samurai Kid article will be up and running soon (with a couple of other articles too)

I had to do some work offline relating to financing and getting my place in order for inspection (most of which had to do with getting rid of a bunch of junk left in our storage closet). Otherwise, back to the grind! Samurai Kid is set up and ready for work. I will be making a new and updated write-up for it and it will be having eight review images and 166 extra images (including ending pics). It will also have credits too. Stay tuned for more on it and other stuff very soon!

Samurai Kid is now finished!

I'm all done with this game and have hundreds of screenshots captured. I may or may not use all all of the screenshots I've captured for the article. I've captured a video of the final boss and the ending too. The ending credits don't seem to use any Kanji, so I may be able to more or less translate the names in the same fashion as I did with the Kaito(u) Saint Tail game made for the Sega Game Gear.

Just Playing Me Some Samurai Kid!

As I've stated on Gaming Sanctuary, I'm getting mah groove on in Samurai Kid for the Game Boy Color. You know, I've played the game a little bit, but getting back to it to make a deeper and more enriching review has made me see this game more clearly. The game is awesome, though still a little easy so far. The last boss I fought (the underwater boss) was shooting energy bullets everywhere though...was pretty sweet. Here are some of the latest little screenshots of what I'm capturing in the game:

Monetization is now possible on GS' YouTube account??

You know, it's so weird. A couple of days ago (as stated in the previous post), our account is now in good standing in all areas of YouTube. Almost immediately afterwards, I get a message from YouTube telling me that it is possible for my channel to earn money on videos on our account. I was both surprised and skeptical. Our account has gotten over 4 million video views, 100,000 channel views and thousands of subscribers (probably hundreds of thousands of unique viewers).

The thing that surprised me is that it happened so soon after our YT account became in good standing. The skeptic in me knows that there is so much spam out there and there are scams all over the place. I thought it was fake, until I saw this:

The picture above is after you go through the process outlined in an email sent by YouTube. I decided to fill it out, though I haven't tried to monetize anything. Gaming Sanctuary probably won't use it on too many videos. However, it might not be so bad to use it on my MANY video tutorial videos that I want to make in the future. I don't think it's a good idea to monetize game samples...it's kind of a gray area, you know?

Everything is A-OK (Regarding YouTube)

I've been uploading videos as usual and I noticed something strange; a false copyright claim I received some time ago has been lifted. I'm now in good standing again in all areas of YouTube. Usually, if you get a false copyright claim on YouTube, you tend to have to jump through so many hoops to get rid of it that you're better off just keeping the strike(s) and/or making a new account.

That's exactly what I did when I made my newer Vysethedetermined2 on YouTube. I wonder if I can upload movies longer than 15 and 1/2 minutes again...that feature would come in handy for RPGs and reviews and the like. Anyway, check out my latest upload below. It's for Bionic Commando: Elite Forces (for the Game Boy Color).

Gaming Sanctuary's First Post

There will be more added to this space for certain. However, at this very second, I don't have much to add (it's 1 in the morning, lol). I've done some eBay shopping and bought some Playstation (one) imports from Japan. They should make for some interesting YouTube videos. I'll talk about them more in another post later.
